Expertly crafted out of rosewood and inlayed with abalone, the bridge is complete with abalone topped bridge pins and a well intonated original saddle that has decades of height and life left. The eye goes immediately to the classic Gibson open moustache bridge one of the hallmarks of the SJ-200 model.
The Gibson headstock inlay looks fantastic and the guitar sports a"Custom" truss rod cover. The gold Grover tuners have an extremely smooth and accurate turning ratio, with no wear to the gold plating. The bound ebony fretboard sports the aforementioned abalone crown inlays and the frets show only the lightest hint of wear down near the nut with virtually no fretwear up the neck.
Single notes have incredible fullness and bloom, and full chords have a richness and resonant quality that only comes from the classic combination of a jumbo body, solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides! The neck has the traditional Gibson 1 11/16" nut width with a medium C profile that makes chording a breeze and is also ideal for fingerstyle playing. Aside from the extensive yet classic cosmetic appointments, this guitar truly does sound every bit as good as you'd expect for a Custom Shop instrument.
